About Mrs. Carter
Hometown:
-
I was born in Providence, Rhode Island. I had the privilege to live & travel nationally and internationally as a Military Brat. I went to High School here in Fort Collins at Poudre High School.
Professional Background/Education/Experience:
-
This marks my 18th year as a licensed teacher practicing in the state of Colorado. This is my second year at Beattie.
-
I received a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. I went on to the University of Northern Colorado for a Master's in Special Education. Six years later, I earned a Master's level endorsement in Special Education for Early Childhood. I have taught from the High school level, all the way down to birth!
What I love about working at Beattie:
-
I am enjoying getting to know all the Beattie students, staff and families in my second year. I am thankful to be a part of a 3-class Early Childhood team.
Early Childhood is where my passions lie.
-
My favorite things about Early Childhood are getting messy with exploratory learning, letting the children lead the learning, and partnering with parents in celebrating children's' successes.
